Bacterial pathogenesis; genetics and gene expression


Formerly in the Department of Microbiology, Gerry Luginbuhl taught both Freshman Seminar and Medical Microbiology.  She served as Undergraduate Coordinator for many years and also served as Interim Department Head from spring 2004-summer 2007. Research emphasis has been the genetics and biochemistry of bacterial pathogenesis through the examination of the bacteria that cause respiratory disease in turkeys with focus on Bordetella avium, the Gram negative bacterial species that causes turkey coryza.
